Think Tank have done it again!
What I love about these guys, is that they continue to evolve with the times, and the demand of their customers. When Think Tank first started, their focus was purely on Photographer carry-bag solutions, but with the creative industry rapidly changing form, and more people being able to afford video camera’s, Think Tank have us covered.
I was leant the bag on a short-term basis from Snapper Stuff @ SnapperStuff.com – I approached them, as I had an immediate interest upon first site of this bag’s capabilities for my work. Which leads me to my work. At this current time in my career, I am working on allot of documentary, broadcast and PSC (Portable single Camera) productions, aside from Studio Operating. This means I need a ‘floor-bag’ style carrier, that can handle a fully rigged FS7 XDCAM with lens and battery attached, for ultimate speed, and storage, the Workhorse series nails it, better than any other bag I have used.
Having field tested the Workhorse 21 on numerous shoot’s during my time with it, I fell in love with it, and can really speak for the build quality and robust toughness this case provides.
[size and weight: 16kg Average of camera system]
Having used similar style Portabrace & CamRade floor-bag’s, the Workhorse trumps them both hands down. Due to it’s storage, protection, and covering from weathering elements.
2 improvement factors for a V2:
-Roller Wheels & Handle (The equipment I use is extremely heavy, often times it would be amazing to be able to wheel this case, rather than hand carry)
-13″ Laptop compartment
Overall I love this bag, and can see myself using this for many of my international and national projects for the coming years. For a kit this size and weight, the Workhorse 25 (Slightly larger model) would be the one for me.
