Midé and I have worked together on numerous projects before. The first, being the music video I shot for him, that aired on MTV across the UK. It was an awesome, and somewhat unexpected achievement to be rewarded with, it wasn’t even in my sights at the time of shooting the video. I also worked with Midé on the cover art for the single of this song ‘Unlikely’.
Which brings me to the Official video for #Unlikely…
Midé came to me with idea’s of using the specific venue for the video, and we worked from there to develop idea’s that would fit. Not the most conventional way to plan a music video project, but needless to say, we got it done, despite the limiting factors of choosing a location first.
We had one day to shoot, which meant a 7am start (4am Wake up, to arrive on time). I allocated a week to edit the project, including post-prep for broadcast copies and delivery.
All of the internal shots in the video, were shot in ‘The Faltering Fullback’ which is a cool looking pub/bar/venue not far from central London.
What gear was used?
Canon 5D Mark III, L Glass, Glidecam HD2000, Rode Mics for reference audio (For Syncing), Lexar 1000x cards and routinely offloading to Mac on set.
Push came to shove, and we had a few people that fell through and cancelled on us a few days before the shoot. This unfortunately left our plans somewhat stumped just 48 hours before the shoot! Desperate Skype call, and idea re-think was in order!
