Canon 5D Mark III | 50mm | F1.4 | 1/5000 | ISO320
Compared to yesterdays Daily Fifty entry, you may be wondering what the hell I am doing with camera settings. But I have good reason as to why the shutter speed was so high.
When shooting in an environment where there is vigorous and uncontrollable shaking and vibration, it calls for a crazy fast shutter speed to ensure you freeze yourself, and not necessarily the action.
I could have shot this at ISO100 and allot slower shutter. BUT, I would run the chance of being blurry. In cases like this, when the scene is extremely well lit (and in this case bright overcast sky) I don’t mind at all boosting the ISO up just to freeze motion. 1/5000 was probably a little excessive, but it’s better to nail the shot, than not right!
